Fly Fishing Schools

Fly fishing schools are the perfect way to introduce beginners to the sport of fly fishing or to refine your current set of skills. This year we are proud to offer 2 steelhead and 2 trout fishing schools.

2012 Crab Creek Trout School
This private land school in eastern Washington assures a superb learning environment with no competition form other anglers. It is limited to 8 students with on site wall tent accommodations. Private nylon tents are available for couples. All meals and beverages with the exception of alcohol are provided. Crab Creek is Double Spey Outfitters premier fishery and is scheduled during the prime time of our spring season. Almost 5 miles of private water are available for our students to learn on. Students may bring their own equipment or rentals are available. The desert scenery surrounding camp is awesome and with fishing to match promises to be both a memorable and great learning experience.

2012 Coeur d'Alene River Trout School
The trout school is held on the very scenic, upper portion of the Coeur d’Alene River. This year our school is yet to be determined. Our three day, two night school is limited to a maximum of four students and includes meals and wall tent accommodations. Students may bring their own equipment or rental equipment will be made available. We feel our abundance of combined fly fishing experience and local knowledge provide us the expertise to ensure a quality technical school. The instruction, great fishing, beautiful surroundings, local wildlife, and the fine food all combine for a very memorable experience.
Casting Instruction

2012 Steelhead Schools
As you know, the fall season is the beginning of the steelhead run in eastern Washington. We will offer 2 Introduction to Steelheading schools. Like the trout school, they will be 3 day, 2 night events. Our schools are held on the lower portion of the Snake River just upstream from Asotin, Washington. The dates for this year's schools are yet to be determined. These are comprehensive on the water schools and will cover all aspects of modern steelheading. We teach and respect the traditions involved with this specialty sport, while incorporating various contemporary techniques into the curriculum. Both single and two-handed casting instruction is included. We feel our instruction is advanced in content, yet remains enjoyable and informative for our guests. We schedule our schools during the optimum times to ensure there are plenty of fish in the river and expectations for hookups are good. The overnight accommodations will be in traditional wall tents and our meals leave little room for complaints.
